Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

This place used to be amazing but has terribly fallen apart over the last year or so. Prices went up quality has gone down severely.

No doubt my favorite Mexican. It's a pretty chill atmosphere with some great traditional Mexican food. I usually get the guacamole and chicken tacos but everything on the menu is pretty delicious.

Burrito Jalisco's Orland Plaza Shopping Center 9182 West 159th Street, Orland Park, IL 60462 I always order tacos with lettuce and tomatoes, no cheese or onions. Somewhere between the way the order is relayed to the cooks or the cooks not understanding, I get cheese on my tacos. On 06/18, I ordered the above and got onions and lettuce. Went back to Jalisco's, no apologies for my inconvenience, etc. I confronted the female manager and she advised "that it could have been my fault for the receiving the wrong food; maybe I told her the wrong thing." After receiving my food the second time, I received lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. I will take full responsibility for continuing to spend my money at Jalisco's after numerous times of not receiving my food the way I asked for it. To the female manager at Jalisco's, please get rid of the attitude and get some customer service skills. I am finally done spending my money at Jalisco's. Called the owner, Lupita, and she was very apologetic and offered me free tacos at the same location, but I choose not to go there anymore because of the manager and repeated mistakes of receiving incorrect food. Shouts out to Lupita for having great customer service skills, now she should get her manager some customer service training. Food is good, but customer service is crappy!!!

Went there for lunch. Needing something quick and local. No meat fridays for me. Ha a great lunch. Taco/tostada combination. Stuffed pepper taco and veggie tostada. Man, did it hit the spot. Also had the pica de gallo (chop sauce). Thought it tasted off. Mentioned to the nice waitress, and she had the chef whip up a fresh new batch. Wow, it was good. Lunchmate had a veggie burrito. Equally tasty as well. Left her a big tip. She earned it. Will be back.

Came here w my husband. I had steak sopes which were bigger than most places and they load it up w steak. They were really tasty the only thing I didn't like is that you have to pay extra for sour cream - most places usually add it automatically. My husband had the steak enchiladas verde which he loved. The service was slow - we ordered guacamole which never came we had to remind him when he brought our dinner. The server never came back to ask if we needed anything and we waited 15 minutes after we were done eating before we flagged down another server to get us a to go container and our check.

food was good huge portions but my burrito was super greasy dripping from it and making a huge puddle on the plate chips and salsa is good and hot and you all need to give free refills on sodas

I've been going to Burrito Jalisco for years and every experience I have had there has been amazing. The Burrito Suizo is gigantic and delicious. Definitely one of my favorite Mexican Restaurants in the area.

Great food, the staff however as a whole is aweful. It's rare that you get anyone there who is genuinely happy to serve you. Overall they are pretty rude and make dining there unpleasant. I usually do take out and even then be prepared for a rude attitude especially if you deal with a young lady by the name of Viry.

This was a "second chance" for Burrito Jalisco for us. Our first visit we received our appetizer and our meal before our drinks. This visit was nearly the same. Hopefully you visit when there are 2 or more servers on duty at a time. Your likelihood of being attended to is much higher then! Would love to get our $4o back. We are great tippers, painfully these visits yielded 10% for our servers.

I have been going here for years, this is the second time I've ordered the steak & chicken fajitas, horrible, loaded with a pile of green peppers hardly any chicken or steak...so disappointed, I don't know what's going on but I thought I'd try again, margaritas are excellent, for the price of the fajitas I won't be coming back : (

  • JE K.

Not impressed. Had the carne asada taco and chorizo taco on corn tortillas. Okay, kinda bland. Chips and salsa were average. Service was a little abrupt at the beginning but decent by the end. Low prices. Still, won't be going back. Will have to fall back on El Famous for Mexican in Orland Park since Los Comales is gone.

My favorite thing here is the pork tacos! I order them with cilantro onions and cheese. I can only eat one they're so big! I also like the chili relleno burrito. The food is authentic Mexican. There is nothing fancy here. The place is kind of run down but the food is good. They have 1/2 price margaritas I think M-W! The prices are reasonable.

Great attentive staff, food always timely and well made. Only one small concern, my husbands burrito was really greasy last night, that has never happened before. But, we will still come back and try again.

The atmosphere is kind of south side strip mall restaurant. Plastic booths and nothing fancy. But the pork and steak tacos are THE BEST in the south suburbs! Great place to grab a pitcher of beer and some inexpensive but delicious Mexican. Friendly staff.

  • Mig M.

TERRIBLE, the place was great long ago. The "new owner " became more interested in profits, prices continue to go up and the quality of the food down. Service WAS NEEDLESS TO SAY BAD. We will never return to the location in 159 th. Street by mc Donald's. We will patronize the one near Harlem Av., also in 159th. Street this one is run by the sisters. BURRITO JALISCO 2

Yum, yum, yum. Chances are if my friends and I want to go out to dinner...this is where we go. $4 for two steak tacos and free chips and salsa? Perfect meal for poor college students. &Their chips and salsa are my favorite of any Mexican restaurant I've been to. On another note... The service isn't the best. My first experience here our food did not come out for an hour, while the rest of the tables around us were coming and going. Finally, our waiter came over to us and asked us if we already ate. Wouldn't you know? You're our waiter. I haven't had that happen a second time, but you do have to wait a bit to get your check and head out.

This is my second favorite Burrito Joint after El Farol. It's a strange looking place inside but they sure know how to make a Burrito. If you are anywhere near Orland Park and want some good Mexican Food then be sure to stop here. They also have Giant Sized Margaritas.

    (5)
  • Mike U.

A great old time Orland favorite. They have awsome $6 to $10 lunch combo specials. Plenty of food and its good! It atmosphere is funky with painted Mexican murals and tv with Mexican stations. Great friendly service. Full bar. Great for lunch without bankrupting you like the big chain places. The two salsas were tasty without being fiery hot. We will keep conning back!

I have been coming here for over 10 years. Good food, fast service, reasonable price. I highly recommend the tacos, ask for a complimentary side of spicy pickled carrots if you want to add some spice. Half price margaritas on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but check with them since the days may change.

I've been going here for years and can't imagine why I haven't written a review. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. They serve alcohol, sodas from Mexico, and some of the best Mexican food around. I usually get a burrito, but last time I opted for the enchiladas which were great. If you dine in you get salsa and chips gratis (I know I'm mixing my cultures). The ambiance is definitely south of the border, with Mexican music playing at not too loud of a level. The waitstaff are friendly and efficient. The seating is comfortable. The menu is enormous, they serve breakfast, though I'm not sure what time they open. Give 'em a try!

RESOLVED- I went to get a chicken burrito. Found it it was FARM-RAISED. This was no mere city chicken. This chicken had a complicated life out in the country. I was part of this chicken's journey. And for that, I am grateful.

Yummy!!! I love this Mexican restaurant! Carne en su jugo & their tacos al Pastor y Tortas are bomb! I like their employees too. :)

  • Jerry C.

Really good Mexican over here.....not upscale at all, but solid for their target market which is a local family restaurant. Margarita was good, not too weak which you seem to get at places like this sometimes. Portions were huge and ok, nothing that stands out....just typical. Sometimes that's all your looking for though. Anyway, would come back for sure because their strength was the friendliness of the servers.

I would not serve this food to my dog and I am serious. I did not leave with my leftovers. The carry out food in our past experience was good. Today we decided to eat in. We were shown that the margaritas were made with standard industry bottle mix not fresh lime. The margaritas we received were the small ones (12 ounce) WITH salt and we ordered without salt. My friend ordered enchiladas with mole sauce. I ordered carne asada. The mole sauce was too sweet. I ordered the carne asada to be cooked medium. The carne asada was as thin as the thickness of one of my socks. In other words, no matter how the meat was cooked it would be served well done, like it or not. Biting into the stuffed tortilla was a mess because everything came out at same time with a single bite, i.e. tough meat. There are two sections to the restaurant divided by the kitchen. When we were done our waitress was nowhere to be found. I had to hail two employees and ask for our waitress. I was told she did not respond because she was taking care of a 4 top on the other side. I thought to myself well what about the 2 top that she was supposed to be taking care of , i.e. us. Upon receipt of bill I was shocked because we were billed for 27 ounce drinks not 12 ounce drinks. They changed the bill to reflect 12 ounce beverages with 27 ounce prices. The manager said we cannot change prices and no effort was made to accommodate the customer by either the waitress or manager. When I used the bathroom, it was locked. I waited and an employee emerged and left the bathroom and entered the kitchen. I noted the sink in the bathroom was not wet when I went to wash my hands. I suspected the employee did not was his hands before returning to work as required by law. I should have suspected better and left the restaurant. I give the poorest rating possible and I will definitely not return. I wish I could submit a negative review. This way the food would be under the ground and not harm anyone.

I have been here several times and the food has been great. The two stars is for the server who must have just gotten out of the Twilight Zone! He seated us and then took off! A couple of minutes later the chip and salsa guy came and he reminded me of Lurch, as he placed the chips down and just stood there! The chips were over cooked and a dark color. The mild salsa tasted like ketchup. Not a fan. Then the first guy came and took our drink order. Tick, tick, tick. Hello! We were two of a total of four people in the restaurant. The soda machine is 6 feet away from me. Where the hell are our drinks! Then this guy takes our dinner order. I asked for the Jalisco burrito dinner. He said! Which burrito? I repeated myself as that is exactly what it was called on the menu. He said, the burrito. Which one? I repeated myself for a second time and he said, chicken or beef. (It was a beef burrito that was described on the menu) So I just said forget it! I'll have the carne asada, as that was my first choice anyway. Things didn't need to be this complicated and I don't like dancing in circles with men! What came out was a riot! I got a beef burrito. Didn't say a word as I know what can happen to food when people complain. I have a regular Tex Mex joint in New Lenox that is my fav. I just happened to be in the area and landed here. For the last time!

Top notch service for great quality food. The shrimp we had for the Camerones dish were humongo. For $12.95 a dish, it was a STEAL!!!! Even the flank steak was more expensive, by just a $1, but nonetheless, seafood is a steal here!!!! Great alternative for after bar food as opposed to White Castle and Taco Bell. Opened late!

This place is a lot bigger that what it looks like on the outside. For years, I have driven past this place and never thought of trying it until my boyfriend wanted to go there on a Sunday night for dinner. Upon entering, the place is a lot bigger than what I imagined. It is nicely decorated and we were seated promptly. The waitress brought out the salsa with some picked carrots and peppers. This extra addition was a nice touch since I've never seen this offered before from other Mexican restaurants. We decided to share the food and we ordered the New York Strip Torta with the Steak Burrito Suizo with rice and beans. The servings are very large and the food is cheap. Overall, the food itself was good, but the service could've been better. Our waitress was good in the beginning, but after bringing us our food, she did not stop by to ask if we needed refills on our drinks. I had to go to the bar to get her to ask for refills and also napkins, more chips and salsa, etc. We were also waiting a long time for the check. She was cleaning at the bar and it's understandable that she's going other stuff, but at the same time, she should still look over at the table that she's serving from time to time to see if the customer needs anything. I think I was staring at her for about 10 mins to see if she would look over to get her attention, but she never looked over once, so I had to go to the bar again to ask her for a box and the check. Then she brought the check over and went back to the bar. We waited even longer and eventually, I had to go to the bar to give her the check. Overall, the food was good, but the service could be improved. I'd go back since the waitress seemed to be nice, but she could improve on making sure that the customers are ok and that they don't need anything else. I'd like to add that we were her only table and the restaurant was not full, so there was no reason for the lack of service that we received. I would have given this place a 4 if the service was better.

I've been going for years and this is my reliable go-to for quality authentic Mexican food. Mole sauce is the best. Must tries are: chicken enchiladas with mole sauce and Jose Cuevo margarita (you will need a driver afterwards). They are both the best.

Takeout is good because the tacos are awesome and it's cheap, but the service is lacking when you dine in. Cheap margaritas on Tuesday though! All in all, a good neighborhood joint for some authentic Mexican food and drink on the cheap.

This place is good, not my top favorite for mexican but it is one of the better in Orland. I'm a fan of the burritos, not so much the tacos. I usually get take out and have a good experience but the service when I dined in was mediocre. Margaritas are good though!

Zero stars , this place has the most disgusting Mexican food that I have ever had . It was very good in the mid 1990s but now it is horrible . Do not ever go here for any reason , eat out of a garbage can in an alley instead of going here .

I LOVE this place! The food is spot on for Chicago style mexican food. Prices are decent and the portions are great. I love the salsa and carrots that are put into the bag with your order! BUT DO NOT BRING A DATE HERE! I don't care how late it is and how hungry you are... you're not going to get lucky with bean breath and mexican gas.... save this until after you're a couple.... and you know she's in LOVE with you! I've eaten here about 20 times, both carry out and dine in. The service has been AMAZING 90% of the time.

Despite reviews from other Yelpers that lead me to be a little scared, my experience at Burrito Jalisco was overwhelmingly positive. We didn't do any research before going in, but found ourselves there out of a mutual love for Mexican food, and convenience of location based on our being at the nearby used music equipment store. The atmosphere of Burrito Jalisco is pretty nice. The employees are pleasant and patient, and the surroundings are pretty nice. Its pretty standard as far as sit down Mexican restaurants go, with the painted "Mexican style" walls, pretty low lighting, and music. Could have done without the Christmas carols, but this happens pretty much everywhere at this time of the year. My first reaction was positive. With the customary tortilla chips they bring out as a free appetizer, there were two different sauces. This was the first time I had been to a Mexican restaurant where multiple sauces were offered with the free chips. The chips were fine, but both sauces were quite good. They both had strong and interesting (but different flavors), with one of them having a pleasant kick as well. It boded well. The menu is quite large, and pretty vegetarian friendly. They offer several options on the menu that are veggie, and as most Mexican restaurants, tend to be able to replace any meat with beans if you want I had a torta, an enchilada, and a side of beans for dinner. The torta was pretty standard: the veggies were fresh, and the helping size was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. The enchilada, however, was outstanding. I loved the flavor and texture of it, and the mole sauce really brought it out. I was head over heels for that enchilada, and the side of beans was quite lovely as well, perfect refried beans. I didn't encounter any of the horror stories of previous reviewers. Some are saying they had food poisoning, and others saying they saw waitresses reusing chips and sauces. If this is true, that is scary and gross, and makes me hesitate to return, but if I were to judge solely on my own personal experience, I have to say that Burrito Jalisco was damn fine Mexican.

I used to like this place until tonight when I ordered the #8 meal ( taco, tamale and enchilada ). I usually get steak tacos and they were always good. Tonight i decided to try something different. The tamale was something from the freezer to the microwave.. Completely dry and falling apart with no insides. The cheese enchilada was just that, a big hunk of microwaved cheese no tortilla, just rubbery cheese.. I can't believe they serve this stuff!!!! I should send Chef Ramsey their way!!!

Yes, the time I got those "half price" crawdads at the end of that two-day Cajun Fest in Berkeley was really rough. And those suspect "gator bites" from that gas station/restaurant in eastern Arkansas? Yeah, that was probably a pretty bad choice too, you know, in hindsight... But with all of the questionable food experiences that I've managed to cram into my poor, poor digestive track, I never thought it would be this nice little, suburbany Mexican restaurant that would do it. That COULD do it. That could wrestle away the title from the rest of the country's foul food havers, but it did it, and in spectacular fashion: Ladies and Gentlemen! This was the epicenter of the WORST food poisoning of my entire life. It was great going down, but....butt.... Really. It really, really was really, really horrific. Oh, trust me, you don't want to know....Just believe me on this one. I thought that taco combo was going to kill me.

The best margaritas and carne asada I've ever had, bar none. Friendly, reasonably priced, great atmosphere, I've been going to this location since it opened 15 years ago or so.

I'm a bit horrified after reading a few of the reviews on here that say this place got them sick, or recycled salsa and chips. Not cool. However, prior to reading that, I would have nothing but positive things to say about this place. I've been there over 15 times and every time the food is great and never had any complications. Without question, for the money, Burrito Jalisco is the best value for authentic mexican food in the south burbs. Now, if they are recycling salsa and chips, I might have to reevaluate a few things...

I've been going to this place for years now and they always deliver on great food and service. Nice clean place with friendly staff. I recommend the Carne en su jugo. Great dish. Best place to eat Mexican food in the south burbs.

Four hours ago, my co-worker called to see if I wanted Mexican food. Three hours ago, I bit into a $5 chicken burrito the size of a baby's arm. It was delicious, with a grilled tortilla outside and juicy, seasoned chicken inside. Sour cream, beans, lettuce and tomato rounded it out. Two types of hot sauce made it even better. Two hours ago, I was still eating the burrito. I resorted to using a spoon because the damn thing was so big and messy. One hour ago, I felt like I was going to puke my guts up. I don't know if it was the richness of the food or just the sheer volume. I know Mexican food's not exactly light eating, but I felt like I had a boulder in my gut. And now, I can't stop drinking water. I'm so damned thirsty. What's IN your tasty wraps, Burrito Jalisco?

Although I live in the city, I think Burrito Jalisco is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants around. I've been there several times with my boyfriend, because it's been a staple in his family for quite awhile. The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious! I'm fairly certain the prices continue to go up (I've been going for two years and have noticed), but it's still fairly reasonable. I would recommend a chicken torta, steak tacos, or a combo platter to go a little of everything. Oh yeah, I love Mexican beer, and they have plenty of cold options :)

Its an average Mexican place. Its not like the Jalisco in Burbank, I was sad to find out it was not the same place. Here food is pricey for small portions and they charge extra for everyting. So nothing stands out that would make me rate it higher than average.

We ate at Burrito Jalisco a few times. The food was pretty good, but I think El Famous over in Tinley is much better. This place is a sit down restaurant with table service, El Famous is counter service with tables and chairs. The last time we ate at Burrito Jalisco in Orland, we watched the workers take the chips off someone's table, who had just eaten and left, and pour them back in the bag of chips behind the counter. Then they poured the reamainder of the sauce into another tables sauce. This is not only gross, but a health risk. I will never eat here again. AND why are they painting their windows so you can't see in or out. Very unwelcoming!

I really wanted to like this place. Being that my husband is addicted to Mexican cuisine, it would have been nice to have another restaurant nearby to dine at. Our server was nice and the tortilla chips and salsa we had were great. I am not a big meat eater, and am nervous about eating meat at a restaurant I've never dined at before. So I chose cheese tortillas as my entree. When the meal arrived, it looked good. Too bad it didn't taste as good as it looked. The tortilla itself was soggy and nasty and the cheese inside was bland, rubbery and overly greasy. I could barely get three bites into me before my stomach was screaming for mercy. The sauce that came with the dinner was a mystery. While I did not get "full on" food poisoning from this restaurant like another unlucky yelper did, I did have a very upset stomach for several hours after dining here. This is not a restaurant to which I'll be returning. The food I had was just too sub-par to warrant a return visit.

I went there the other day for lunch with my Husband and I was so disappointed with the chips, ordered some guacamole, It was so bland and the chips... I could tell they were from the night before and they just threw them back in the fryer, they were hard as a rock!... and they really should change their oil in the fryer, Took the leftovers home, why? I don't know, I opened the guacamole the next evening and it never had even changed color, I told my husband when we were eating " this is fake guac"!! No taste they used some yogurt mix, We both decided we are so done with this place! When a mexican restaurant cant provide real avocados thats BAD!!!!! The server was very nice and thats why the one star.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
